A fortified city in the Ionian Sea

The city of Corfu is located on the island of the same name and has been listed by UNESCO as a World Heritage Site.

It is a fortified port city made up of narrow cobbled streets and colourful Venetian-inspired houses. 4 km to the south of the capital is the Vlacherna Monastery, which stands on an islet that is connected to the mainland by a walkway.

A little further away, towards the north of the island, lies Govino Bay, where visitors can admire the Ypapanti orthodox church. The church is notable for its picturesque location, as it is situated on a small islet.
